La Maaku wines
Our wines are born in a unique natural environment, in the Famatina Valley, La Rioja province, Argentina. This region is defined by its warm and dry climate, low rainfall, and large temperature swings that allow for ideal grape ripening.
We produce wines that authentically express the essence of their terroir. Each bottle reflects the balance between tradition, technique, and respect for the land.

The Vineyards
A special microclimate, with hot and dry summer days and cool nights, combines with the clean air and desert-like topography of the valley to ensure outstanding ripening conditions for grapes and olives.
Producing quality wines in such extreme conditions is a real challenge. Late frosts, the Zonda wind (strong and warm during bud-break), very hot days, and rain during the start of harvest make vineyard management a key factor in achieving high-quality wines at Valle de la Puerta.
Despite the intense climate of the Famatina Valley, many grape varieties thrive and respond with unique and intense expressions.
